Your first visit to our office is a time for us to get to know you and your main concerns. When you arrive at the office, a team member will show you how to sign in, and direct you to our brushing station. Once you have finished brushing your teeth, a team member will take you to the records room to snap a few photographs, and proceed to the x-ray machine to capture a scan. At this point, you will be given a tour of the office and seated in the consultation room.
When Dr. Twaddle arrives in the room, we will all observe your photographs and x-ray scan together, so everyone involved is informed and comfortable with the direction of the treatment plan. Providing thorough information at your first appointment is extremely important to us. We believe patients will feel more comfortable knowing what to expect of treatment and procedures, before they occur. We do our best to avoid any unexpected surprises and let each patient know everything we are going to do before we do it.
If you are ready to begin active orthodontic treatment, we can take impression molds before you leave the office, so all of your initial records are complete. This way, the next time we see you, we are beginning treatment.
If you are still developing, and Dr. Twaddle feels you are not quite ready to begin treatment, we will recommend the patient be placed in an observation phase where we will follow growth and development to determine the appropriate time for treatment.
There is no fee associated with the initial consultation, nor is there a charge during the observation phase.
